Composition of the synthetic institutional building: care home

Information on 15 care homes from the BKI databank (BKI-Datenbank 2015) was evaluated in order to derive characteristic areas, volumes and material indicators.

These buildings encompassed care homes for the ill and for the elderly, care homes for the disabled (mental disabilities) as well as hospices. Five objects could be examined in detail, i.e. using data on the area of building components as well as descriptions of the construction process (data up to the 2nd costing level).   

The dates of completion of the analysed care homes lie in the period 1998 to 2012.
