Factory and workshop buildings

Factory and workshop buildings are non-residential buildings directly used for the production and distribution of energy and water or directly used for the production and repair of goods or for waste disposal.

Factory and workshop buildings include: workshop buildings belonging to the police and civil defense; buildings for energy production and distribution; buildings for water collection and distribution; buildings for sewage removal; buildings for waste removal; abattoirs as well as other factory and workshop buildings (Destatis 2014). These are, for example, workshop buildings, fire/ambulance stations, machine or pump houses, factory buildings, production halls or assembly halls.
