Hotels and Guesthouses

... are buildings intended to provide accommodation and thus are equipped with guest rooms for overnight stays. Depending on the type of accommodation, rooms are also available for catering and for leisure activities or meetings (guest rooms, conference rooms, etc.). Sanitary, social, administrative, technical and caretaker areas are also required. Some of the entrance areas of hotels and guesthouses are prominently designed.

The analyzed hotels/guesthouses are multi-storey buildings. The outer walls are largely solid masonry but with some use of reinforced concrete while the floors are made of reinforced concrete. Hence, the main building materials are reinforced concrete and brick (lime sandstone, brick, cellular concrete).
