Hotels and restaurants

Hotels and restaurants as well as  guest houses and boarding houses are buildings with and without accommodation which are open to the public and in which food and beverages are provided to overnight guests and, in some cases, to passers-by (Destatis 2014).

Hotels and guest houses include: hotels; restaurants; boarding houses; bed and breakfast establishments; restaurants without overnight accommodation as well as canteen buildings. These buildings are, for example, hotels, restaurants, cafés, ice-cream parlours, alpine lodges, clubhouses or university refectories.
