33 schools from the BKI databank (BKI-Datenbank 2015) were evaluated in order to derive characteristic areas, volumes and material indicators. Consideration was given to primary schools, grammar schools, Gesamtschulen, Hauptschulen, all-day schools, Waldorf schools, independent schools and educational centres. Eight objects could be examined in detailed, i.e. using data on the areas of building components as well as descriptions of the construction process (data up to the 2nd costing level).
The dates of completion of the analysed schools lie in the period 1990 to 2009.
