Warehouses

… are buildings that contain a hall in which diverse objects, products and goods are stored for a certain period of time. These buildings range from “pure” warehouses (e.g. for beverages) to warehouses combined with office space, workshops and social areas up to complex storage centres (e.g. logistic centres). Depending on the functionality, the hall can feature a number of interior multi-storey partitions and exterior annexes.

The halls are generally constructed as steel and reinforced concrete load-bearing structures. Steel or reinforced concrete supports are combined with solid exterior walls or sandwich elements. The exterior walls of multi-storey buildings are constructed in masonry with rear-ventilated facades (Gruhler, Deilmann 2015).
