This detached and semi-detached building type up to 1948 is a single, semi-detached or terraced building with one or two floors (in the case of single floors, usually a converted attic floor), mostly as a plastered masonry building (frequently: quarry stone, brick, less frequently: aerated concrete, sand-lime brick), but also regionally in timber construction (e.g. half-timbered, ole-timber cottages).
