Risks

Natural hazards and the consequences of climate change imply enormous challenges for society and for the built environment. In this context, the information system of our research area provides insight into central methods, approaches, data, products, and services to analyse the built environment in terms of hazards, vulnerabilities, and risks including the characterisation of effects to improve the resilience of buildings.

Two impacts are currently in focus:

The topic heat focuses primarily on consequences of summer heat and building-related indoor climatic conditions.

The issue of flooding relates to hygric impacts such as river floods, urban floods, and high groundwater levels.
