Information System

The focus of our information system is the built environment with its elements buildings, infrastructures and anthropogenically transformed open spaces. In accordance with the currently valid sustainability and climate protection goals, our goal is to develop the built environment with the target of sustainability and resilience, taking into account spatial contexts (urban, rural, etc.). We focus thereby on resources that can be mapped via the materiality of building structures, as well as risks that arise primarily due to natural hazards. We address issues of interest to researchers and stakeholders in urban, regional and environmental planning as well as industry in this field and provide them with corresponding basic information, downloadable free of charge, on building structures in our information system.

The information system known as "Information System Built Environment" is a department within the IOER Research Data Centre (IOER RDC).
